LIFE is hosting Networks for LIFE - Your career event 22-23 April 2010
Meet a number of companies and organisations with an interest in LIFE students and graduates, including Chr. Hansen, Cheminova, Bayer CropScience, Novo Nordisk and Arla Foods.
The event is relevant for Ph.d.-students and especially Thursday 22 April from 13.00-14.00 the event will focus on the match between companies and ph.d.-students with the following presentations:
The recruitment of Life Science candidates
Keynote Speaker: Lilian Nilsson, ph.d. and founder of the recruitment agency Science-Job
Lilian Nilsson is the founder and manager of Science -Job. Lilian is M.Sc. (food science) and ph.d. from DTU and holds more than 10 years experience within the fields of research, development, project and people Management from earlier positions at Novozymes, LeoPharma og Chr. Hansen. Science-Job is specialised in active search of candidates within Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Legal Affairs and Life Science discipliner.

Keynote Speaker: Peter Sommer, Head of Department, Fermentation, Chr. Hansen Inc.
Peter is responsible for creating robust fermentation- and down-stream templates for lactic acid bacteria for large scale fermentations. Prior to that, he has been working as development scientist in Department of Wine, where he later became Department Manager.
Before joining Chr. Hansen in 1998, Peter graduated with a M.Sc. in Biology in 1992 from the University of Copenhagen working with thermophilic anaerobic bacteria in hot springs, looking for thermostable bleaching enzymes for the paper pulp industry. He then joined Department of Biotechnology at the University of Denmark, as a research assistant for three years before starting a PhD. in making second generation bio-ethanol from lignocelluloses biomass. I received his PhD degree in 1998.
